The Project

The lighting system on the slip/link road of the M11 Junction 4 and the main line of the M11 up to Luxborough Lane Overbridge northwards was nearing its life expectancy and required replacing and upgrading. The works comprised of the removal and replacement of the existing lighting columns and cables in this location with a new and upgraded system.

Traffic Management

Safety cameras limited traffic to 40mph through the roadworks as they straddled the 70/50mph change in speed limit at the bottom of the M11.

Traffic management also involved various lane closures, with some local diversions necessary where works coincided with a slip road. These were clearly signed, with at least 2 weeks advance notice.

Noise pollution was monitored, and the local enviromental health authority agreed noise limits which the contractor adhered to.
