The Project
Work to resurface both of the eastbound and westbound carriageways and repairs to bridges between junctions 7 and 8 on the M62 near Burtonwood in Warrington, started early August 2005 and was completed on 22 December 2005. The project involved resurfacing the worn carriageways with quieter surfacing, drainage works, works to the central reserve and renewal of safety fencing.
Although the main body of the work was complete, work to complete additional resurfacing, safety barriers installation in both verges, repair gullies, and erect Slippery Road signs began on 9 January 2006 and was finished by February 2006.
