The Project

Works to replace street lighting columns at the Kingsbury Road Roundabout on the A38 at Minworth began on Monday 17 October 2005 and were completed on Thursday 15 December 2005.

The project was brought forward in order to minimise the disruption caused to the public over the Christmas period and reduce the timescale of the work .

Traffic Management

The majority of the work was restricted to the highway verge. However, the work did require some lane closures. These took place overnight from 2100 to 0600 on Tuesday 15 November and Wednesday 16 November. It was necessary to close the outside circulatory lane around the island and one lane of each of the two-lane entry and exit connections to the island. The island remained in use but with a single lane entry and exit and one circulatory lane. This may have resulted in minor delays for drivers.
