The Project
On 15 January 2009 the Secretary of State announced that the M1 J34 North to 37 Improvement scheme would now be taken forward as a Hard Shoulder Running Scheme (HSR). To learn about more about HSR, please visit the Hard Shoulder Running Page.
The HSR scheme will now be between M1 J32-35a. Further details of this new scheme can be found on the M1 J32-35a Managed Motorways scheme page.
Analysis has shown that the remaining section between J35a-37 offers relatively low value for money and will therefore not be taken forward at this current time.
