Establishment of the site offices at High Trees Farm is largely complete although we are waiting for new BT lines to be provided. We do have a single line operating and you can ring this at any time on 01773 270251. If no one is available to answer your call immediately, you will be able to leave a message on the answering machine and someone will deal with your query as quickly as possible.
The Start of Works exhibition on 5 October was well attended and the Minister, David Jamieson, enjoyed his visit. Select "Photo Gallery" in the right hand menu to view.
On the site, work continues on pre-earthworks drainage in preparation for main embankment construction and fill is already being placed at the eastern end of the bypass to form the embankment for a short connecting road. Excavation for the diversion of the Old Wryde Drain is under way to the east of Station Road. Permanent and temporary fencing through the site is nearing completion.
The new borrowpit on the north side of the A47 west of the bypass is being prepared to supply the fill material for the main embankment. Archaeologists have been at work as the area is stripped and are recording any finds.
In the next few weeks, expect to see some activity on Station Road as the plant crossing is constructed. This will involve some restrictions to traffic but should not cause any significant delays. The large dump trucks will be starting to bring sand and gravel in from the borrowpit for the embankment west of Station Road. As the link road embankment is completed at the east end of the bypass, the fill operation will move to the north side of the A47 to build the embankment for the roundabout.
