Construction work on the Thorney Bypass is now progressing at full speed with in excess of 100 workers on site. The Link Road at the East End was opened on Sunday 3rd July. This allowed the old section of the A47 to be excavated ready for the new road.
Work is also ongoing on the 3 roundabouts. The east and west roundabouts will be open in advance of the Bypass over the next two to three months.
Duke of Bedford School Visit
On the 12th and 13th of July we were visited by Pupils from The Duke of Bedford School.
They witnessed several areas of the site including the concrete batcher and the slipform paver, which is laying the concrete road.
The slipforming operation is now well underway with up to 250m of carriageway being laid each day.
