Route management strategy
Introduction
Introduction
The Highways Agency is responsible for the management, operation, maintenance and improvement of the trunk roads in England, including the M53, A55, A483 and the A550.
A strategy has been developed for the management of a route including the M53, A55, A483 and the A550, between Birkenhead and North Wales, over the next 10 years. This strategy was prepared following a detailed study of the route and involved consultation with interested parties including local authorities, environmental groups, the police and the general public.
This leaflet outlines the management strategy for the route over the next 10 years and describes in more detail actions to be progressed during the first 3 years. The timescale of any proposals are subject to funding and the successful completion of any statutory procedures that are required.
