The Project
8 cuttings along the M50 plus the 2 cuttings on the A40 were identified as needing work to ensure that rocks could not become loose and a danger to the travelling public.
The work on the cuttings started on 23 January 2006 and lasted for a period of 16 weeks.

The Work
The works have made the rock faces of the cuttings secure. The vegetation on the cuttings was removed where necessary, the rock faces were then stabilised and, in places, covered with a heavy duty netting. The work started on the A40 at Ross on Wye and progressed eastwards in stages along the M50 motorway with the final section being at Junction 3 on the M50.
