The Project

A scheme to repair the A14 Junction 25 Bridge across the A14 at the Hemingfords will start on Friday 13 January 2006 and is expected to take 4 consecutive weekends to complete. The Hemingfords Interchange Bridge which is located approximately 2.5 km southeast of Godmanchester, was struck by an overheight vehicle in January 2004.

The Work

The work involves repairs to the damaged concrete beams. It will be necessary to completely close the eastbound carriageway of the A14 while the repairs are being carried out. Work will be restricted to weekend overnight only.

Dates and times as follows:

  • Friday 13, 20, 27 January and 3 February - 9.00pm to 9.00am
  • Saturday 14, 21, 28 January and 4 February - 8.00pm to 8.00am

We hope to complete the work over the first three weekends but, if weather conditions prevent this, it may be necessary to extend the work into the forth weekend as well. During the times the eastbound carriageway of the A14 is closed, signed diversion routes will be in place via Godmanchester, Papworth Everard, Caxton Gibbet and Girton.

Delays are not expected to be significant although drivers are requested to allow extra time for their journeys or seek alternative routes.
