Detrunking Details
The M6 Toll (formerly known as the Birmingham Northern Relief Road) is a 27 mile long dual three lane motorway bypass to the congested M6 in the West Midlands conurbation. M6 Toll connects at its southern end to the M6 just east of junction 4 at Coleshill. North the M6 Toll connects with the M6 at a new junction 11A. M6 Toll is Britain's first tolled inland motorway.
M6 Toll is due for completion around January 2004. On opening of the M6 Toll it is the Highways Agency's intention to detrunk the roads on the attached four Public Notices and transfer the responsibility of these sections of highway over to the appropriate Local Authority.
