HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

THE A446 TRUNK ROAD (BASSETTS POLE, STAFFORDSHIRE TO M6 JUNCTION 4 COLESHILL, WARWICKSHIRE) (DETRUNKING) ORDER 200

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR TRANSPORT hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under Section 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980 which will provide that lengths of the A446 Trunk Road:

  • Between the southern boundary of its roundabout junction with the A453 and A38 at Bassetts Pole, excluding the circulatory carriageway of that roundabout and the County Boundary of Staffordshire and Warwickshire at Bassetts Pole;
  • Between the County Boundary of Staffordshire and Warwickshire at Bassetts Pole and the northern boundary of its roundabout junction with the M42 Motorway and Kingsbury Road at Dunton, excluding the circulatory carriageway of that roundabout;
  • Between the southern boundary of its roundabout junction with the M42 Motorway and Kingsbury Road at Dunton, excluding the circulatory carriageway of that roundabout and the northern boundary of its roundabout junction with the M6 Motorway at Coleshill excluding the circulatory carriageway of that roundabout;
  • shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road from the date on which the Order comes into force.

COPIES of the draft Order and the plans referred to in it may be inspected free of charge, during normal opening times, at the Highways Agency, Information Point, Ground Floor, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3HW the Highways Agency, Broadway, Broad Street, Birmingham B15 1BL; Staffordshire County Council, Development Services Department, Riverway, Stafford SG15 3TJ; South Staffordshire District Council, Council Offices, Codsall, Staffordshire, WV8 1PX; Warwickshire County Council, PO Box 43, Warwick, CV34 1AB; North Warwickshire Borough Council, Council House, South Street, Atherstone, CV19 1AB, Walsall MBC, Civic Centre, Darwall Street, Walsall, West Midlands WS1 1TP, Birmingham City Council, Council House, Victoria Square, Birmingham B1 1BB; Lichfield District Council, District Council House, Frog Lane, Lichfield, WS13 6YU.

ANY PERSON MAY OBJECT to the making of this Order not later than 28 August 2003 or within 6 weeks from the date of first publication of this notice, if that period expires later. Any objection must be made in writing to the Secretary of State at the Highways Agency, Broadway, Broad Street, Birmingham B15 1BL, quoting reference HA/065/018/000135 and stating the grounds of objection. In the preparation of an objection and the statement of grounds of objection, it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection or representation might be communicated to other people who may be affected by it.
