What happened?
At the end of April 2006, we started improvement works on the A21 at the junction with the A268 and B2087. The works lasted for approximately 12 weeks.
What was involved and why was it necessary?
The works will improve the Flimwell crossroads by widening the road to create dedicated right turn only lanes, which will increase road safety and help ease traffic flows along the A21. The existing traffic signals were upgraded to accommodate the new road layout and the pedestrian crossing was upgraded to include larger pedestrian islands for improved pedestrian safety.
