Where was the project located?

The project involved the installation of 1.7km of concrete central reserve and verge barrier on the M5 between junctions 20 and 21.

Why was the scheme needed?

The project replaced existing corroded barrier to ensure the ongoing safety of road users.

The verge barriers have been replaced and a concrete central reserve barrier has been constructed.

The safety barrier has been brought up to current standards and will avoid the need for temporary repairs and the associated disruption to road users.
