Summer Congestion Hotspots and Toll Charges

Traffic congestion is regularly experienced in the following locations during the peak holiday weekends between June and September.

M4 eastbound J20-17

  • Fridays: 1pm - 7pm
  • Sundays: 3pm - 7pm

M4 westbound J19-20

  • Fridays: 1pm-7pm

M5 southbound J15-21

  • Fridays: 11am-7pm
  • Saturdays: 7am-3pm

M5 northbound J21-16

  • Saturdays: 10am-5pm

M5 nothbound J21-15

  • Sundays: 1pm-7pm

M5 southbound J21-30

  • Fridays: 3pm-6pm

M5 southbound J29-30

  • Saturdays: 8am-3pm

M5 southbound J30-31

  • Fridays: 10am-5pm
  • Saturdays: 9am-11am

A303 Stonehenge eastbound

  • Saturdays: 1pm-5pm
  • Sundays: 1pm-5pm

A303 Stonehenge westbound

  • Fridays: 3pm-6pm
  • Saturdays: 11am-5pm
  • Sundays: 12am-4pm

A303 Ilminster westbound

  • Fridays: 2pm-5pm
  • Saturday: 1pm-5pm

A30 Eastbound approaching Jnc. 31 of the M5 motorway

  • Fridays: 13.00 to 18.00
  • Saturdays: 10.00 to 16.00
  • Sundays: 10.00 to 14.00

A30 at Temple, between Launceston and Bodmin.

Westbound:
  • Fridays: 3pm - 7pm 
  • Saturdays: 10am - 5pm
Eastbound:
  • Fridays: 12am-5pm
  • Saturdays: 10am - 4pm

A30 at Carland Cross Chiverton westbound

  • Fridays: 3pm-6pm
  • Saturdays: 10am-2pm

A30 Crowlas both directions

  • Saturdays: 11am-2pm

A38 Dobwalls westbound

  • Fridays: 3pm-6pm
  • Saturdays: 10am-2pm

Please note - motorcycles and disabled badge holders are exempt from toll charges. Also there is no extra charge for towing caravans/trailers.

Tolls are cash only - no card payments accepted.
