Highways Agency team successfully demolishes Catthorpe Viaduct
Contractors worked solidly for 36 hours from midnight on Friday 6 January to demolish the old 3,500 tonne Catthorpe Viaduct which until mid-December had carried M6 southbound traffic over the M1.

Where delays occur, planned or otherwise, we want to get you the information you need as quickly and easily as possible, to help you make informed decisions about your travel plans - especially when severe weather is likely.
As such we offer a range of traffic information services. Please note that these only cover the Highways Agency Network - view our Network map. For information on other roads in England please visit your Local Authority. You can find your Local Authority at the Local Government Association website. Trunk roads and motorways in Scotland are the responsibility of Transport Scotland; those in Wales of the Welsh Assembly Government.

A web based service providing real time information including CCTV images, traffic flow and incident information. You can choose from:
Showing signs, CCTV, flow information, roadworks and incidents by motorway.
Where you can check for information by road and date (including live information)
Sorted in order of severity or road name (and this can be printed out)
